Kitchen Dreaming
I’ve been dreaming of my kitchen makeover yet again. Hoping to start our makeover before fall. So as you guessed, I have been perusing the web for some inspiration. My kitchen is very small, mind you-I live in an old city, in an old house. I am definitely a white-kitchen-kind-of-girl but welcome a splash of color. I love the cottage look although my house is a mix of motley furniture from yesteryear and today. I guess my style is a cross between midcentury, country and cottage. Can you even call that style? I can’t make up my mind. I love the patina, grace, and quality of antiques. I see Pottery Barn and I want to buy out the store. I’m on craigslist and see an absurd deal on Heywood Wakefield and I’m drooling. Anyhoo, I digress. I was dreaming of kitchens.

really great pics .. you and short southern mama have the same ideas today. Ah to have a dream kitchen, I have my dream kitchen from 3 years ago, I am so over it, and am looking forward to our hacienda kitchen make-over in Arizona….ah to dream.

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier today – I really love the look of white on white kitchens but for me, a light colour was more practical so we went with a honey maple cabinet and flecked taupe counters with mid-tone beige floors… I use blue and red as my accents!

You can call any combination of styles a style. It is. And there’s no reason to narrowly define yourself into a single category. As for your style, I love it. Kitchens always cause my heart to race a little faster, but the ones you chose are absolutely divine. The third and the sixth are my favorites. I’m saving them to my inspiration folder now.

Those are some beauties. I did notice one had wood countertops. I put those in my last house and found them to be a nightmare to maintain. Just thought I’d put that in for your consideration!
I love the old farmhouse style sink– I think they’re beautiful and oh-so-useful. But while I love the idea of glass-plated cabinets in *theory*, in actuality, my cupboards are far too messy/crowded/disorganized for me to want anyone to be able to see into them at all times!

Love the 5th picture! Well, they were all great, but I am particular to the 5th.
OMW, I want them all! I love all of them!!!!! So white, crisp, clean, my favorite!
