Vintage Hobnail Milk Glass Lamp
I found a pair of these lamps at a yard sale for $3. Even though it came with this tattered old shade, I knew there was potential.
I went to Paper Source to chose my shade. Have you ever been to Paper Source? They have tons and tons of gorgeous paper which also make great lamp shades!
I carefully took the old shade apart and kept the old metal parts
I used the old shade a traced it onto my Paper Source paper
Glue ribbon trim on the shade
Carefully fasten shade to metal parts with clips or clothes pins
Hot-glue shade in place
Do you have vintage milk glass lamps? I’d love to see them. E-mail me a pic and I’ll post it.

I love your new lampshade
Beautiful! I love the shade. Great work. Oh and I love paper source. I could spend an entire paycheck in that store.
So lovely. Glad I stopped by. I think I will again. SITS.
I love it there too. Definitely paycheck worthy. Thanks for stopping by.

sorry, it is worldofmamayjane.blogspot.com, i missed the other a on mamay.
I LOVE it! I do have a little lamp that needs that kind of love. When I finish it I will send you an e-mail. Hopefully it won’t be two years from now. Ha Ha Thanks for the great instructions.
@joyce-I can’t wait to see it. I want to compile all the photos i recieve-hopefully alot- and will show them all in one post.
Wow, what a difference between before and after. I have an old lamp that I would like to do this to. Great job!
What a sweet idea! I usually hate pink, but I’m really feeling that pattern.
You are so creative! I’m sure I’d break the lamp or tear the paper if I was the one who did the job :p
There is one thing I need to ask you, though. Being wrapped with that paper, does the light turn differently, I don’t know, sort of pinkish just like the color of the paper?
Thanks
love the lampshade! you picked the perfect paper!
Hi Diar-the paper is mostly white so it doesn’t give off pink lighting. I made sure I choose paper that didn’t do this. I’m sure this is something you can do. I always have my kids help me with all my projects even if it’s a small task. My son held paper down for me and passed me clips.
oh, i love it~ would love to try but it looks so complicated!
Stopping by from SITS. My Mom had/has a lamp like that. I think it was my Grandmothers.
I heart milk glass! These are in great condition too! Love the new shade. Everything looks so pretty!
My Grandpa used to have a lamp like that – I love how feminine the shade looks with it.
Southernskies-I wanted it to be girly with a bit of a modern twist because it’s in my daughter’s room.
