California Love
You ever had an experience where you felt so much joy and peace and love in your heart that you wish you could suspend time at that moment? This was me on so many occasions during my visit to California. I have a big, close-knit family in California so when we’re there it’s a big party everyday. Our visits are always jam-packed with togetherness, home cooked meals, stories of yesteryear, jokes, late night talks, and yes, even karaoke. My kids get to run around with their cousins (lost of them!) like a pack of wolves. No video games, no fighting, just some good old fashioned outdoor playtime. Remember when kids did that? The absolute worst thing about going to California is having to leave. It’s almost unbearable to say goodbye to loved ones but once we make it back to the east coast it’s as if everything is where it should be. For now anyways….
California Love

such lovely photos here! i have similar feelings when i visit california as well, since my family is out there too! plus the weather, variety of good food, and beach make me happy too!!
I know exactly what you mean! We visited with family in La Mirada last year and I was so depressed when we had to leave
I love the picture of the burgers! Brings back good memories <3
Oooh I love In-N-Out Burger. Yummy!
Oh how I miss In-N-Out Burger. Yum yum yum.
Sounds like you had a wonderful trip!
Ohhhhh…I know exactly how you feel! Nothing like that wonderful family time! I also have the issue of leaving. At least two days before I am suppose to leave, I start mourning. I try not to, because then I miss some of that absolute joy, but that sad feeling, in the pit of my stomach, shows up here and there.
It is So worth it!

I agree with you here. I am a cali native and I miss the carefree(ness) of everyday. My sister (since moving to NC) says very often, there is nothing to do in NC. where in cali you could just go hang out with your friends and be broke (hanging out with family, friends, going to the beach etc). The golden coast is love for sure.
so glad you had such a glorious time, my dear. california can definitely do that to people.
welcome back!

Lovely post! Love the photos, darling! When we lived in California, In-N-Out burger was our favorite.
I LOVE in and out burgers and I am the karaoke queen! Sounds like a fun time (=

I’d heard about how fantastic that burger joint is, but never had a chance to eat there. I have tons of family in CA, but it’s been years since I’ve been back!
What a touching post. There are few things better than togetherness.
PS I have an award for you on my blog.

Those images say it all so beautifully!
Oh California. Husband and I took our honeymoon to Marin County and absolutely fell in love. He keeps their weather in his iPhone app and feels the need to tell me how gorgeous it is there whenever it is either way too hot or way too cold in Boston. It seems to always be the perfect temperature it drives me nutty! We miss it so much, hopefully next year we will make another trip out. And In N Out Burger? Oh my god, yes PLEASE, preferably with the animal style fries. Yum! I think we ate In N Out at least four times in the six days we there.
beautiful pics, love those burgers!! i’m going to san fran in october, been there before, but looking forward to going back. glad you had some family time, it sounds wonderful
Great pictures. In-N-Out, such a California treat! Glad you enjoyed your trip & I’m glad your back here in blogland.
Oops, had the In and Out burger on our trip to the BCS championship game. It went in and came right out – quickly!
Oh, I know just what you mean… We feel the same way every year when we leave Canada after visiting with my in-laws.
Have a great weekend!
Awesome pictures! My family gets so excited to come out to visit my husband and I in AZ where there’s In-N-Out. My dad stops on the way home from the airport!
Thanks so much for your kind comments on my blog, hydrangeas are so beautiful aren’t they? Love your images too, especially the sea view. The seaside has such a wonderful calming effect, don’t you just love the sound of the waves? I am off to Scotland next week so check out my blog when I get back. I am hoping to take lots of photographs there and enjoy some family time – it’s the best! Take care : )
I LOVE your photos! I have such great memories of my family and “running like a pack of wolves” with my cousins as a child. Thanks for bringing that back for me.
Thanks for your comment. I am enjoying your blog & all the great pictures/posts. It is sad to leave family…that’s how we feel when we leave the beach but there’s also no place like home.
Beautiful images! Lovely blog

Oh, your vacation sounded wonderful! The kids will hold those memories with their cousins forever! Fun!! Gasp….in-n-out burger!! ♫ yummm…animal style, please!
I was just there and I know the feeling. I kept thinking to myself, why do we live in the midwest when there is all this beauty out here?! California is lovely. San Francisco’s weather threw me for a whirl (I swear it was not that cold the last couple of times I was out there) but other than that it was divine. I looooooooove wine country and all the lavender and rosemary and oils, etc. Heaven!
