A Black and White Halloween

Now that I have kids, I always decorate the house for Halloween. Nothing too elaborate and nothing too scary because I get spooked pretty easily; probably more than the kids. LOL.  This year I’m decorating my house in black and white. I was inspired by these photos.  I love how there’s nothing morose about these spaces yet they’re screaming Halloween.  How do you decorate your home for Halloween?

How I would love to do something like this for Halloween! It’s mysterious enough but still very stylish. And wouldn’t it be fun to have some giant black and white masquerade ball on Halloween night?

  2. I am with you, I like cute / stylish Halloween decor, not scary and gory! Love this idea, it is gorgeous and you can use pieces you might already have so it would be pretty easy to pull off. We usually just put out pumpkins and such but I might have to get a little more creative this year!

  3. Love these ideas, I’m not a huge fan of spiders, mice and skeletons as part of the design. These are attractive and would appeal to parents and children alike.

  4. ohh i LOVE those black/white plates on the wall~!!! that’s sooo cool!!

  5. Wow, love the boards with the lettering on the steps, such a smart idea…and the bowl of black and white candy!

Stop by my site if you have a chance…Love your blog!

I love Halloween and I loved it when my mom decorated. She still decorates, even more than she used to. She has tons of grandkids (none of them mine!) so she really lives for creating a haunted house in her basement! She told me on the phone the other day about this life-sized Frankenstein she has built and she’s been going to Halloween stores every chance she’s had for the last few months. The woman loves Halloween! I love the black & white though, it’s simple and subtle and classy. Yet it still screams Halloween, just like you said. I love it!

I adore Halloween! It’s one of my favorite times of the year. I like to go black, purple & silver but I’m inspired by the photos above! Maybe I’ll rethink my decorating plan.

I love these decors because they don’t scream HALLOWEEN. So subtle and classy.

these are such great looks, like spooky stylish :-) i was always such a coward when i was little, couldn’t even walk by a haunted house at a carnival, so i know how u feel! i have to start thinking about some halloween-y projects.

  13. Love the pictures! I usually do pumpkins & such, but I’m really digging the black & white idea!

last year we made a pumpkin bunting cut out from Katie’s artwork from school (she comes home with tons of it). We had it going back and forth throughout the entire dining room it was so long. It was cheery and multi-colored which we liked (we get spooked easily over here too)

  15. As usual you are a one stop inspiration location — love the images.

  16. I did origami bats this year in halloween colors. Cute and easy.
