Oh Christmas Tree…

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season.  We got into the Christmas sprit early this year and chopped down our Christmas tree during Thanksgiving weekend.  I’m so glad we did. The weather couldn’t have been nicer – it was 60 degrees and we could have walked around in our t-shirts. I thought that getting a head start on the tree would give me a leg up on shopping but I’m far from completing my list. I also still need to prepare for our Christmas dinner.I’m tackling prime rib.  Anyone have any suggestions on sides? I’m staying away from green bean casserole and want to try something different.

  1. Beautiful tree! We got an early start this year as well! It has been fun celebrating for the past month! :)

  2. That’s a great tree! I’ve bought ours last week and it’s now in the garden waiting to go up on the 24th. I’m very traditional like that and our tree never goes up before Christmas eve.

I am lucky enough to have this month of work, so I’m very smug now because I have all presents wrapped, (nearly) all food shopping done and even some of the food prepared and frozen. We’re having a traditional British Christmas dinner with a Turkey and all the trimmings.

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a very happy new year, Love from London xo

I’m not familiar with putting the tree up on the 24th? So when would you take it down? Sadly, here in the states, some trees are taken down Christmas day. I like to wait until New Year.

what great shots — we cut ours down this year, but didn’t have to forge a mini-river after (my husband probably would have liked that).

This year we’re having a Korean Christmas complete with Korean BBQ, rice, seaweed… you know, all the fixings. But, I like prime rib with good ‘ol mashed potatoes, and a roasted veggies like brussel sprouts with a little bacon.

  5. As far as I’m concerned, this is the real way to get a Christmas tree. Thank you so much for the birthday wish the other day — hope you have a very merry, happy happy, bright & joyful holiday!!

Becky-your Xmas dinner sounds TDF (to die for)!! Veggies and bacon-I’ll have to give that a try. Anything with bacon is a hit at my house.

    Thanks, Brandi. You as well.

Hi Eileen. I hope you had a wonderful Chirstmas and Happy New Year! Christmas dinner was delicious. I ended up cooking roasted carrots and au gratin potatoes. I ate way too much during the holidays.
