      Cold Hands Warm Heart

      December 8th, 2010

I love getting packages in the mail and this is why me + online shopping = :) . When I read about the Cold Hands Warm Heart event by Much Love, Illy and Sandy A La Mode it was a no brainer to sign up.  Such a fun idea- pair up with a fellow blogger and exchange packages containing a pair of gloves and other goodies.  I was paired up with Christina.  Check her blog out. She’s one active lady who lives in Florida where’s she’s getting ready to wed her true love. I think I’m in love with her cute pup, Lily. That dog is super cute!

So my package from Christina arrived and I was so excited to get the box open.  It came just in time for the chill we’re experiencing here.  I will be wearing these super adorable gloves Christina has picked out for me as I drink the delicious hot cocoa also included in the package. I love hot cocoa!! Speaking of chocolate, I also received some Christmas peeps.  I’m actually eating the tree shaped one right now. I couldn’t help myself. One last item-a gorgeous ornament to adorn our tree.  Thank you ever so Christina for making me feel as giddy as a 4 year old on Christmas morning.

This was brought to you by the letter N

      October 21st, 2010

Yes, the letter N as in Baby Boy N and Baby Girl N. I had the opportunity to take photos of these lovelies. Too much cuteness and gorgeousness in one photo shoot makes ones’ heart melt. Seriously, I squealed after each click. New things going on at Small Burst and my photography exploration. Will have to share the details with you all SOON. Meanwhile, enjoy the adorableness. That even a word?

      Jadeite

      October 11th, 2010

I’ve been obsessing over  jadeite kitchenware for years and have always wanted to collect them. But here’s the thing, collect meaning I have to stumble upon them while I’m at a garage or estate sale where the price is so low I have no choice other than to take out my change to purchase it.  So a few years later all I have is one plate. Not much of a collection, huh? But, honestly when I’m at an antique store the frugal me just doesn’t want to pay $80 for a teensy bowl. Some jadeite kitchenware have been known to sell for thousands.   Hard to believe that in the 30s and 40s jadeite was so common they were sold at five and dime stores and at one point  were given away for free with cleaning products.

I’d love a display of jadeite in my kitchen so I am tempted to cheat and purchase reproductions like the ones pictured above.  Just as cute but not nearly as costly as the antiques. Do you have jadeite hidden in your cupboards? Best check your mother or grandmother’s kitchen for this great find.

      A Golden Idea

I’m on a fall decorating kick as you can see.  I was thinking of decorating in all black and white for Halloween this year  but seeing these photos may just change my mind. I’m really digging on the golden pumpkins.  Are you?

      A Black and White Halloween

      September 28th, 2010

Now that I have kids, I always decorate the house for Halloween. Nothing too elaborate and nothing too scary because I get spooked pretty easily; probably more than the kids. LOL.  This year I’m decorating my house in black and white. I was inspired by these photos.  I love how there’s nothing morose about these spaces yet they’re screaming Halloween.  How do you decorate your home for Halloween?
